A Grand Teton Wedding Weekend Full of Summer Magic
There is something undeniably magical about a summer wedding in Wyoming. For Emma and John David, they knew it was the perfect setting to welcome their favorite people for a Grand Teton wedding weekend designed to feel immersive and truly unique.
The Days Before
Emma and John David's wedding was not confined to one single day; instead, the celebration unfolded across the entire weekend. The festivities began Thursday at Grand Teton Brewing, where guests were welcomed with custom-labeled lager. From there, everyone headed into town for Music on Main, soaking in the energy of a Wyoming summer evening with the mountains in the distance.
On Friday, Emma's girls enjoyed a western-inspired luncheon in downtown Jackson Hole. Later in the evening, Emma and John David gathered with close family and friends for an intimate dinner at the Knotty Pine, a classic Jackson Hole spot that set the tone for the celebration. Each of these moments served not just as space in the weekend calendar but as a moment for connection and anticipation for the days to come.
Thoughtful Details Inspired by Wyoming
For the design of their entire wedding weekend, we focused on one meaningful detail: a watercolor trout hand-painted by Emma's father. What started as an illustration quickly became the signature motif woven throughout the entire weekend. It was subtle, sentimental, and tied into the natural beauty around them. From the paper goods by Stovall Collection to custom decor moments, the trout became a connecting thread of each event and design moment.
Emma and John David’s fashion followed a similar, subtle sense of ease. Emma wore a gown designed by Romona Keveza, a simple choice that felt perfectly suited for the setting. For a Grand Teton wedding, the landscape does so much of the talking, allowing the rest of the details to fall naturally into place. Emma carried a bouquet of white blooms, keeping the overall look timeless.
A Traditional Ceremony at St. Francis of the Tetons
When it was time for vows, guests gathered at St Francis of the Tetons for a traditional Episcopal ceremony. The church itself carried a quiet sense of beauty, so we simply added colorful blooms from Plush Floral down the pews to bring softness to the space without overpowering it.
A Grand Teton Wedding Reception Beneath the Tent
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the cocktail hour, where signature drinks and passed hors d'oeuvres awaited. One of our favorite details from the evening was the custom escort display labeled "Catch Your Seat," featuring removable trout keychains guests could take home as keepsakes from the wedding weekend.
When it came to the dress code, the guests absolutely understood the assignment. There's a certain aesthetic that naturally accompanies a Grand Teton wedding, and every look felt perfectly in sync with the setting.
Dinner unfolded beneath the tent on the lawn, surrounded by layered color and candlelight. Pattered linens, colorful chargers, and lush florals filled the space, creating a playful yet elevated reception that was unmistakably personal to Emma and John David. Genevieve Catering brought together an undeniably Wyoming dinner menu and even the cake, by Paisley Cakes, carried their story with the couple's iconic watercolor trout painted delicately onto the side.
The Moment Everyone Will Always Remember
Every wedding has one moment that stays with you long after the celebration ends. For Emma and John David, it was undoubtedly the life-size cutout of the bride's deployed brother making its way from table to table throughout the reception. It was a beautiful reminder that even from far away, he was still a part of the celebration.
In many ways, this moment perfectly captured the spirit of the entire weekend. A joyful celebration centered around the people who matter most!
We were so excited to see this wedding featured on Weddings Chicks and will forever relive every moment of this day.
